Phil
Hi,

I have posted this question previously and for some reasion I cannot find
the orignal post and I have to be honest I dont even know if anyone managed
to answer it.  I am using SQL Query Analyzer that is distributed with SQL
Server 2000 and for some reason when I try to run the Help option in the Menu
Bar in Query Analyzer nothing happens, does anyone have any ideas why this is
or how I go about fixing the problem.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

PD

Hi Phil,
First of all, check out if C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools
exists as a folder and inside there are .chm files.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I have tried to run the books online and I get the
following message

Cannot open the file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\80\Tools\Books\SQL80.col.

Any thoughts??? This was working fine a couple of days ago and nothing has
changed so I really dont know why it is doing this.

Thanks again, PD

If you have the rest of the files and sql80.col is the only one lack, give us
take the CD and copy again. How odd.
Any reinstallation before of this?

Hi,

Thanks again for the quick reply, I just went down the re-instal of the
books online and all is fine now, dont know what happened, nothing was
instaled, updated or changed, guess it's just one of those scarry little
things.

Not to worry, thanks again for the replies.

PD.

check what happens when u run the following on command prompt
C:\WINNT\hh.exe "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\80\Tools\Books\SQL80.col"

also check if u can double click on any of the ".chm" files in the C:\Program
Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\Books\ directory and have the help
displayed.
also u may want to download books online if its corrupt from here:
