Is it possible to create a job that fires a .vbs script file?

Yes.

For the Job Step [Type], select ActiveX script instead of T-SQL. In
Enterprise Mangler, at the Job Step, press [F1] for assistance in setting
the script header, etc.

I've done it.  Just make sure the folder you're running in is able to
execute scripts and that the account permissions are proper.
