Upgrading to SQLServerHi
I need to upgrade an access app to sql server, for the first time. In the first phase I would like to upgrade only the backend to save time. Are there any pointers for a newbie to help in the upgraded? I need to give a time/cost estimate to client for the upgrade (backend & frontend). How does one calculate it for such a work where it is not clear (at least to me) how much time it will take? Thanks Regards Make a wild guess on the hours, double it, and add 10%.
No real way to calculate without doing a trial run first. Moving the table can be fiarly easy, but there will be some Access quirks that won't be seen right away. -- Show quoteKevin Hill President 3NF Consulting www.3nf-inc.com/NewsGroups.htm www.DallasDBAs.com/forum - new DB forum for Dallas/Ft.
