New bug in Access 2003 projects concerning Excel importsI have been working with MS Tech Support in India on a new bug they agree
exists. When you use an Access 2003 ADP and try to transfer the data from an .XLS file into an SQL Server 2000 table using the TransferSpreadsheet command, it fails. Access changes the name of the target table (the first 2 characters get altered) in your command and announces this table cannot be found in any database recognized by the Jet database engine. Jet? Interestingly, the same command works just fine in Access 2002. Ther is a workaround but you have to transfer the data from the Excel file into the Server table cell-by-cell and row-by row. -- malcolm |
